“During the summer, I trained with Coach Juan and learned a lot about discipline and hard work. We woke up early at 6 am to go for runs that lasted until 11 am, followed by basketball drills and pick-up games. I was one of the few consistent attendees, which gave me an advantage on the court - I was faster, had more stamina, and a mental edge over my opponents. Coach Juan not only pushed us hard, but also competed with us, which made us tougher. This experience taught me the importance of hard work in both basketball and life. I applied these principles to playing Division 1 football and being in the military. To succeed, it's essential to work hard and create an edge for yourself because there will always be someone working harder than you.”
